PEAK Scholar Athletes Finish Strong
Many PEAK scholars are involved in Holy Trinity's robust student life, whether as members and leaders of student-led clubs or as student athletes. Two of our senior PEAK scholars ended their careers as high school athletes on a high note.
Lavelle Brown '18 is the boys soccer team Captain and led the Tigers to victory at the IHSA Regional Championships this past October. Lavelle not only excels on the field, but is a high-achieving student in the classroom, successfully balancing an Honors and AP course load with sports and extracurriculars.
Mellanie Barnes '18 took first in the Chicago Prep Conference's Cross-Country Girls' Varsity Championship and went on to achieve her personal best time while running in the IHSA Regionals. Mellanie finished 31st overall and did not advance, but that race was the culmination of four years of hard work and perseverance for this student athlete. Mellanie is also the Vice President of the Student Government Association and devotes countless hours to planning and helping to execute student events such as Spirit Week and Homecoming.
We are incredibly proud to highlight two of our 30 PEAK scholars who are achieving their goals and finishing their high school years strong!
