Oh The Places They'll Go: Class of 2019 Joins Ranks of PEAK Alumni

PEAK's eight seniors graduated from Holy Trinity High School Saturday, June 1. Their hard work paid off, and they were accepted to over 35 colleges and universities collectively.

Jada plans to study business at Morton College, where she has a full ride scholarship to play basketball. Chris will attend University of Illinois - Springfield (UIS). He says that one class he is excited to try is physics. Twin sisters Karen and Ingrid will be attending University of Illinois - Chicago (UIC) in the fall where they plan to study chemistry. Kera intends to study radiology at City Colleges of Chicago Malcolm X College. Edgar will be attending City Colleges as well. Makiya, who was the scholar speaker at the second annual Breakfast with PEAK at the Union League Club this April, will attend Benedictine University. She wants to study history. Ron plans to pursue music production and graphic design at Hope College.

None of this would have happened without the support of the PEAK community, especially the eight seniors’ PEAK mentors: Ambrose Donnelly (The State of Illinois), Brigid Daugherty Fox (Quarles and Brady), Eric Hesness (The Martin-Brower Company), Jen Allen (FTI Consulting), Kacie Sassano (Holy Trinity High School), Mary Kate Fulghum, Rebecca Ahrendt (Deloitte), and Rory Fox (Northern Trust Corporation). Thank you, mentors, and thank you to all the PEAK supporters who continue to make our scholars’ achievements possible.

We look forward to following the progress of our newest alumni and welcoming them into the community. We know that they will go on to great things.

We are starting an alumni initiative this summer to reconnect with more of our past alumni. If you are a PEAK mentor or scholar alum or know one, please join and share our PEAK Alumni Facebook group, and stay on the lookout for new ways to connect with each other this summer!
